announce new coaching structure for 2010 2011
With The Wanderers Head Coach Richard Hodges leaving the club after 13 years as Player and Coach, the club have re-structured the Coaching Staff, and Off field Management Team.

Team Manager Darren Joy said “Richard Hodges took over the Club 4 years ago, during this period he has guided the club to their highest league position and a SWALEC Cup semi final. Richard has become one of the most saught after Coaches in Welsh rugby and, as we expected, his time came to leave and he has joined Cardiff RFC. Richard leaves with our gratitude and best wishes for the future”

On leaving The Wanderers Richard Hodges said " After 13 years as a player and a coach here it was going to take something special to get rid of me! Whilst being local rivals, Cardiff offers me a new fresh challenge that I’m thoroughly looking forward to. The Wanderers is a fantastic place, great values and support staff and I wish them all the best".
The Wanderers will not be replacing Richard Hodges. Current Coaches Matt Bolton (Forwards) and Chris Ower (Backs) will continue in their roles with shared responsibility for First team rugby coaching and Lee Drabble remains as Head of Fitness/Conditioning. Darren Joy will continue as the Team Manager and is the first port of call for all first team matters.

After Five years as The Wanderers first Director of Rugby, Billy James is standing down to pursue other interests and devote more time to his family. Billy a former Club Captain, is taking a more back seat rather than leaving the Club, has guided the Club from the SWALEC leagues up to the Premiership where we are today.

The role of Director of Rugby will be filled by former Cardiff player, Coach and Wanderers Forwards Coach Bob Newman. Bob’s role will primarily be to ensure The Wanderers Youth team and Development team continue to produce players capable of playing Premiership rugby and Support the first Team Coaches in their shared roles. Bob will continue as The Development XV Coach for the coming season.

Going forward, there are plans well underway looking at developing the Wanderers Clubhouse and Ground into a facility capable making The Memorial Ground the leading Rugby, Sports and Community Facility in the Cardiff Area.
